Your signature scent is the one people remember you by. But with so many fragrances out there, how do you choose? Here's a simple, no-nonsense guide.
1. Know the fragrance families
Most scents fall into a few families: Woody (warm, grounding), Fresh (clean, citrusy), Floral (soft, romantic), Oriental/Amber (rich, sensual) and Fruity/Sweet (playful, youthful). Start by noticing which you're drawn to.
2. Match the scent to the moment
Fresh and citrus scents suit daytime and the office. Woody, amber and oud scents shine at night and in winter. Many people keep one of each.
3. Test on your skin
Fragrance smells different on everyone. Spray on your wrist, wait a few minutes, and let it settle before deciding.
4. Make it last
Apply to pulse points — wrists, neck, behind the ears — right after a shower when your skin is clean. An Eau de Parfum like ours holds longer than a body spray.
